Little Things

Have you ever noticed little things in your life. These are the little things but have big meanings and influence you in big ways. Isn’t it true? Take a look around and then answer to yourself!
Don’t you find the world beautiful? Don’t you find people around you beautiful?
There is a beauty in every little thing. A smile on your mentors’ face when they see you…it moves you, doesn’t it? A hand of affection from your friend, a hug from your parents. Do you think there is any need of words to describe these beautiful gestures?

Sometimes few words from a long speech leaves an imprint on your heart. It stays with you forever. You always remember the words and the expressions with which they were spoken. You feel yourself in those little words.
Sometimes you find beauty in an old torn book. The words printed on it, you fall in love with those little words and confine your whole world into that little book of yours. That beauty stays with you forever.
Sometimes you find beauty in writing letters to your loved ones. You find beauty in waiting for the letter to arrive for you. When you receive a letter, the affection behind those little words stays with you forever.
Sometimes you find your thoughts beautiful when in a place where no one is around and your thoughts are exactly what your heart feels. There is a beauty in every little thought of yours.
Sometimes discussions are so lovely that it stays with you forever. The words and sentences, everything appeals to your senses and every little part of it stays with you forever.
Sometimes you find beauty in staying awake till 12 at night to wish your friend a happy birthday. When you finally wish your friend, you find love and care in the voice of “thank you”. The beauty of it stays with you forever.
Sometimes you fall in love with a flower and keep gazing it like its the world you belong to and nothing exists beyond it and the beauty of it stays with you forever.

These little things are like pearls to our lives. These little things enrich our lives and give it a meaning.
These little things make our life worth living. These little things are like an ‘add on’ to a daily routine.
These little things make you smile.
These little things are precious to us for they stay with us forever.
For these little things make the world around you.

But,

Why is it that we don’t always find the books touching? Perhaps, we find it easier to access ebooks now.
Why is it that the classic things still touch our heart? Perhaps, the modernisation has made the things so virtual that one can only see it and can never feel it.
Why is it that we don’t find beauty in being with a friend? Perhaps, we are not actually with them instead we are virtually with them through social networking sites.
Why is it that we have stopped visiting libraries? Perhaps, we have everything on a click.
Why is it that we don’t find beauty in long discussions and we have to keep a written script of the discussion? Perhaps, we have our discussions on chatting sites where you don’t actually get to know the feel of a person behind his words.
Why is it that today we don’t find our friends ‘ birthday that special? Perhaps, we have it saved in our reminders’ list and our phone automatically texts “happy birthday” to our friend while we don’t really remember it.
Why is it that hello has been replaced by “whats up”? Perhaps, that is how the world evolves.
Why is it that beauty of writing letters is lost and one finds it boring and out dated? Perhaps, texting is easier.

This world is getting more and more digitalised, which gives so many comforts of course! But along with that the beauty of the little things is losing…and the tragedy is that we are unaware of it.

Don’t you think so?
Tell me what you think about it!!
I would love to listen to different views about my thought!!
